Process points are earned by completing work during the actual Senior Workshop class. This work is scaffolded to prepare students for the final defense and final paper.

First, students will work on the part 1 paper; this is a revised version of a paper written in Junior Workshop. Your first task will be to evaluate the review sample using the part 1 rubric.

After you have evaluated the review sample, please fill out this form and then work on your own part 1. You will need to bring four copies of a rough draft in order to participate in peer editing with your classmates.

To earn points for peer editing, students must respond to the appropriate form.
part 1
part 2
part 3

After participating in peer editing, students will complete and submit a final draft of part 1.

Next, students will work on is the part 2 paper; this is a revised version of a paper written at the end of Senior Practicum. You will first evaluate the review sample using the part 2 rubric.

After you have evaluated the review sample, please work on your own part 2. You will need to bring four copies of a rough draft in order to participate in peer editing with your classmates.

After participating in peer editing, students will complete and submit a final draft of part 2.

The most time-consuming part of Senior Workshop is the research for the part 3 paper. Part 3 is a research paper which will answer the research question approved by the Senior Workshop instructor while students were in Practicum. After reviewing their research questions in class, students will evaluate the review sample using the part 3 rubric.

Then students will work on the research for part 3. For each of the 18 required sources, students should complete a source review sheet.

When students have found 18 relevant sources, they will create an annotated bibliography. This is a bibliography which includes a paragraph which summarizes the source. This MLA guide will help you complete this assignment.

In addition to your annotated bibliography, you will work on a detailed outline for the part 3 paper. You will need to submit a rough draft and final draft of this outline; this is a sample of the part 3 outline.

If students are having trouble structuring their paper, this document may help:

After the part 3 outline is approved, students should complete a rough draft of part 3; students will participate in peer editing. After students have participated in peer editing, they should complete and submit the final draft of part 3.

Watch the sample defenses, available on Google or on Moodle. Then complete this form.

After all three of the portions of the paper have been graded, students will work on compiling the final paper. Details for that assignment can be found on the wiki page for the Final Paper. Students will then work on the Powerpoint for the final defense and do a practice defense. Details for these assignments can be found on the wiki page for the Final Presentation.
